Introducing Taylor Road:
Moorabool Valley Eggs and ALDI launch high-quality, high animal welfare, free-range eggs, Victoria Wide
.

From August 9th, ALDI customers in Victoria have had the opportunity to purchase Taylor Road (700g) Free Range eggs, which are produced to the highest standards of animal welfare, from Moorabool Valley Eggs, Meredith, located in the rolling hills of the Moorabool Valley, Western Victoria.

Not only are Taylor Road eggs Free Range, but the hens have been fed a vegetarian diet – and with high animal welfare, they are free to roam at 1500 hens per hectare when outside.

Moorabool Valley Eggs CEO Todd Menegola says, ‘As a business, in recent years, we have worked really hard on achieving a high standard of egg quality, along with focusing on delivering to our customers what their consumers are demanding in their egg purchases.’ A higher standard of animal welfare in Free Range egg farming is a key requirement from some consumers and we are very proud to be partnering with ALDI to bring the Taylor Road Farm brand to life’.

Taylor Road adds to Moorabool Valley Eggs’ already impressive portfolio of brands, comprising of: Moorabool Valley Eggs True Free Range, Happy Hens Egg Farms Free Range, Happy Hens Organic Free Range Happy Hens Cage Free (Barn Laid) and Country Farm.

Celebrating 55 years in the mainstream egg market in 2020, Moorabool Valley Eggs was established by the Colla family in 1965. Maintaining the Colla family’s drive and cultural values, the company continues to grow – territorially, ethically and reputationally.

Due to the success of their Free Range eggs, the company has recently expanded their supply base, with facilities in Golden Plains Shire, and exclusive producers in Mornington Peninsula, Grampians and Mallee regions. Colla Group Holdings purchased Egg Marketing Australia in 2010 to allow for a ‘paddock to plate’ model across all channels and ensure the highest quality control of their eggs and egg products.

The company’s home farm, on Taylor Road, Meredith, in the heart of the Moorabool Valley, provides some of the region’s most celebrated farm-fresh produce – including eggs, meat, olives, cheese, fruit and vegetables, along with some of Australia’s best regarded wines.

“We are proud to partner with Moorabool Valley Eggs to offer our customers in Victoria locally produced, high-quality Free Range eggs. At ALDI, our shoppers can be confident that the eggs they purchase from our stores are sourced from Australian producers and meet industry standards in animal welfare. We are committed to phasing out caged shell eggs by the end of 2025,” said Andrew King, Buying Director at ALDI Australia.

Taylor Road has been available in ALDI supermarkets across Victoria since 9th August. For more information on the range, or Moorabool Valley Eggs, please visit www.mveggs.com.au.

Moorabool Valley Eggs Continued Local Support to Those in Need.

Over the past 15 years, Moorabool Valley Eggs (MVE, formerly Happy Hens Egg Farm) has been a proud supplier of eggs to St. Vincent de Paul Society of Australia (SVDP) South Geelong in support of the organisation’s efforts to feed those in need.

SVDP works to assist people suffering disadvantage and combats social injustice across Australia.

Vincent Colla, one of the directors of MVE, member of SVDP and current President of Meredith and District Conference, partnered with SVDP to start this wonderful relationship knowing that eggs are an important part of any household’s food supply. Eggs would normally be purchased by the SVDP organisation and are a greatly appreciated contribution.

Peter Cummins, SVDP Geelong Regional Council President, reflects the importance of eggs to those suffering from food insecurity: “Eggs are of great assistance as the households we assist can use them in so many ways (boiling, poaching, frying, used in quiche, baking, etc.). The disadvantaged people we assist really do appreciate the eggs. I often hear statements when dropping off food like ‘Oh great, some eggs. I haven’t had eggs in my house for weeks.’ If you could hear that, you would certainly know how important your help is to people.”
